The first things we normally think about are: what you want to do and when do you want to do it. With long lead times on some products and availability of trades being an issue, we suggest you start with what you want to be done and what products do you need to pull it together. This will help take a great deal of pressure off, and you will not be limited to product off the shelf as opposed to getting what you want.
Start as a wish list. For some, it’s more function and storage with busy families. For others, it’s the comfort of a home spa bath or that perfect hands-free kitchen faucet. Most of us do not build or renovate kitchens and bathrooms every day, so this will give you a taste of what is available.
Next, book an appointment. Having a consultation with one of our Showroom Consultants is going to educate you. We will give you the pros and cons of the products, from life span to care and cleaning, including warranty. We will suggest options to fit your needs and budget.
Once you have a list of the product and spec sheets that you would like to incorporate in your design, then it’s time to enlist your professional tradespeople.
Schedule a meeting and discuss what you want to do and provide them with your product selection. They are the professional installers and will be able to confirm if the product you selected will work in your space. They consider things like structure, codes, and plumbing and electrical access. Once your list meets all your needs you can get a good idea of how long it will take for the product to arrive and you can schedule your trade professionals accordingly.
